Year 9 Extension Program
Our Year 9 Extension Program covers both Maths and Science and while it’s closely aligned with the school curriculum, it also goes slightly ahead. This means that by the time students reach the classroom, they’ll have already been introduced to key concepts and even some advanced topics. For example, while studying linear relations in Year 9, students will also explore the basics of quadratics, giving them a head start.
After six years of refining our approach to education, Loyola now has program that I believe will make a significant difference for the right students. Loyola’s mission is to provide great education because we truly believe that education is the most powerful tool in the world ... yet the options currently available to parents simply aren’t good enough.
These classes are designed for students currently achieving 70% or above in their grades who want to deepen their understanding and get ahead. At the end of each term (Week 9), we administer an exam covering the topics done in the term. In Week 10, we review the exam with the students to help them understand their performance and identify areas for improvement. Parents will receive a detailed progress report, similar to school reports, so they can stay informed about their child’s growth.
