Writing is an essential part of the GATE exam. However, writing in GATE is marked very differently from school. The markers are looking for creativity, and with 6000+ students writing on the same topic, most students will write very similar stories. That's why the average score for writing in GATE is only 16/50 😔.
But don't be discouraged by this number! A score is just a number, it does not define who you are. Each one of our students is remarkable and capable of incredible things, and a single test or homework will not determine their future.
Our aim is to help you rethink how to write a writing piece and produce a unique piece of writing that will stand out from the rest. Instead of focusing on getting a high score, let's break it down 🤔.
First, identify which section you are the weakest in. For example, "OK, so I am not very good at morals and messages. In my next week's writing, I will focus on this and see what I get." 🤔
Next, consider the steps you need to take to improve in this section. Is it asking more questions? Is it taking notes and revising? Is it revisiting incorrect questions the following week? 📝
We promise you 🤞🏾, if you take this approach by analyzing the marking key and adjusting each time to fix your weakest section, by the time you do the exam, you will ace it! 🙌🏾
Remember, the chains of habit ⛓ are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken. 😊 So keep practicing and improving your writing skills, one step at a time, one day at a time 🏆.
Finally, write in pen 🖊 and write a minimum of 1 A4 page but a maximum of 2 pages. The actual exam is only 25 minutes long, so you won't be able to write 3-4 pages of a great story in that time. Instead, focus on writing a unique and creative piece that showcases your writing skills in the best possible light. Good luck! 🍀
